This year the western Valentine's Day happens falls on the same day of Chinese Lantern Festival. On this day, the 15th lunar day of the year, traditionally, light lateens are used to decorate the houses, towns and temples. Some places have lantern carnival where people can enjoy the beautiful lanterns, parade and food. The tradition food for this day is called Yuan-Xiao or Tang-Yuan. The are made of sweet rice flour into sticky glutinous ball, filled in with sesame, red-bean or peanut paste. In my hometown, we also make salty Tang-Yuan, filled in with ground pork.
Let me contribute some flowers from my garden to celebrate this special day!
